“Russia, simply put, is facing a demographic crisis unprecedented in world history. As a result, the country has become something of a poster child for what can go wrong, demographically speaking, in an ostensibly advanced nation-state. Through a complex combination of factors, it has somehow managed to reverse the so-called demographic transition, one of the defining features of developed societies.
