Dr. Carolyn Halpern, CPC Fellow and UNC-CH Associate Professor of Maternal and Child Health, has been selected as the recipient of the 2010 Loretta Lacey Award. The award is sponsored by the Association of Teachers of Maternal and Child Health and recognizes proven leadership skills and the potential for future career development. Dr. Halpern was chosen because of her many accomplishments as a teacher, mentor, and researcher in maternal and child health. In addition to many other achievements, Dr. Halpern is director of the doctoral program, has produced a number of published works, and is considered an outstanding teacher and mentor by her students.
