Tonia Poteat, Ph.D., MPH, PA-C, Core Faculty, is a co-author on new research in the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (JAIDS).

In “Addressing Racism’s Role in the US HIV Epidemic: Qualitative Findings From Three Ending the HIV Epidemic Prevention Projects,” the authors present key challenges to the success of the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative.
They name “racism and White Supremacy” as threats to the program.

They “present a series of recommendations to help investigators” know whether they are countering racism to improve the “impact of EHE interventions for people of color.”
