Paul R. Voss is a Fellow Emeritus at the Carolina Population Center.
Voss' research areas include spatial demography, applied demography, small-area population estimation and forecasting, and internal migration. He has served as a consultant to the US Census Bureau on methodology and applications of the American Community Survey and on several scientific panels with the National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences. Voss's experience leading the Applied Population Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin - Madison made him an important advisor as CPC launched its Carolina Demography initiative.
Voss' recent research includes methodological advances in spatial regression modeling and interpretation of spatial spillover and feedback effects in causal models of child poverty in the U.S. An article relating to this topic is forthcoming in the journal Spatial Demography.
Voss has recently retired and will become an emeritus fellow at CPC. He will continue to advise CPC on the Carolina Demography initiative and consult on issues involving spatial demography at CPC and beyond.
