Peter R. Uhlenberg is a Fellow Emeritus at the Carolina Population Center.

Peter Uhlenberg is interested in issues related to population aging, demography of the life course, and intergenerational relationships. His recent writing has been on such topics as: (1) Children in an aging society; (2) How demographic and social change affects grandparent-grandchild relationships; and (3) Age segregation. Uhlenberg had a major role in developing the center's program on the demography of aging. He is a former editor of Social Forces, and is editor of the International Handbook of Demography of Aging and of a special issue of Journal of Aging and Health on "Migration, Aging, and Health" He is a preceptor to CPC trainees and teaches graduate-level population courses.
