Family resources, food security, and child health during periods of temperature change and adverse climate conditions
Summary
Climate change is expected to have important negative consequences for the health and living standards of vulnerable populations in low and middle-income countries, but to date there are few population-based strategies that have been documented to help protect against these exposures. We will use data from randomized controlled trials of cash transfers to poor households in Zambia and Kenya to test whether these additional resources can protect food security, child health and youth lifecourse transitions during periods of adverse climate conditions.
