Summary

This project will develop, implement, and evaluate a Youth Community Score Card (YCSC). The YCSC allows young and unmarried family planning clients to document their concerns and challenges when attempting to access family planning services from public facilities in their community. Based on the challenges identified by young and unmarried women, indicators will be developed and used to produce a validated score for the facility. The score will be shared with the community and a collaborative process between youth, unmarried women, key community members, and healthcare providers will take place to develop feasible solutions and a corresponding action plan. The YCSC project will be piloted in three public facilities in Western Kenya and resulting changes in service delivery will be shared with leaders in the county health office and national family planning program.
