Abstract
The hepatotoxicity of p-xylene has been assessed in male Fischer 344 rats and male Sprague-Dawley rats. p-Xylene is a common organic solvent in paints, laquers and thinners. p-Xylene has also been identified in urban air. Because the hepatotoxicity of p-xylene has not been adequately established, we conducted experiments to determine the influence of dose and strain on the hepatic effects of pxy lene.
