Abstract
I am writing this Editorial sitting in an eerily empty hospital cleared out in anticipation of an onslaught of infected patients yet to materialise. Everyone is masked, precluding full facial contact and the usual greetings that enliven my walk into work. Patients, clinicians and support staff strive to maintain the social distancing mandated by the US Government. Elevators are entered and exited warily. The chain coffee shop in the lobby is no longer packed. There are decals taped to the floor to keep patrons separated from one another. Not willing to waste a crisis, the marketing pros have been at work from home as the decals proclaim the university and health systems logos.
