Abstract

The BJOG follows a very rigorous peer review process that includes review by invited referees with content expertise, and a decision on rejection, revision, or publication is made by multiple editors in light of the referees’ recommendations. This manuscript completed that process, was revised by the authors, and an ultimate decision to publish was made by the editors.1 The limitations noted by the correspondent were of concern to referees and editors; nevertheless, as is the case with all manuscripts we believed that the benefits of publication for our readers outweighed those limitations. Clearly, readers of good will may differ in that opinion, and the BJOG welcomes letters to the editor to help our readers gain insights we may have neglected to emphasise.
