Audrey Pettifor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Pettifor is an epidemiologist who has conducted HIV prevention research in South Africa for over 12 years; her research focuses on HIV prevention among young people, particularly young women, in South Africa, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Other research interests include HIV prevention interventions for young couples; structural interventions to reduce HIV risk in young women; Positive Prevention; and Acute HIV Infection and sexual behavior. Dr Pettifor received her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley as well as her MPH in maternal and child health.
